to like it. I eventually gave in to curiosity and had to try the match for myself. I think it's fair to say that I'm more familiar with the Dunhill version, but I was completely surprised how much I liked this match blend. It has all the hallmarks that made 965 great. The ribbon cut is not the same, less refined, but preforms okay. It's bulk, but seemed to maintain a nice moisture level for weeks. That's where the differences end folks. The flavors are rather spot-on IMO. I joked with my friend that I may not be able to tell them apart on a blind taste test. Yes, it was that close! So, then I thought...”Why is this so similar?”, and then it dawned on me. When I first started smoking Dunhill's blend 25yrs ago, it more than likely had Syrian Latakia. Over the years it has slowly changed a little with the more common variety of Cyprian Latakia being used. Cyprian Latakia is more mellow and smooth, creamy even, which works with VA to make the blend just slightly sweeter. Matching “sweeter” is something Sutliff can do. So, I must conclude that if you're thinking this will match old tins of Dunhill 965 from your cellar you'll find this match sweeter, but if you're looking for it to match the more recent tins of Dunhill 965, you'll be much rewarded. Me personally, I still give the win to Dunhill either way, but with its days numbered and Sutliff having such a great bulk match, I can easily see my loyalties wavering. I hope this helps. UPDATE: We now have My Mixture 965 readily available thanks to Peterson, and as far as I can tell theirs is identical to the final tins Dunhill released, but I still believe for the price and convenience of bulk, I have no problem with Sutliff's match (now Match 20). BTW, I failed my blind taste test with flying colors! Read Less

iness and the nic hit is light. I would put this as a good all day smoke for those who do but the aroma will not be a big crowd pleaser. As for being a good match to the original, yes, but if you are big Dunhill fan you will not agree. I personally have hard time supporting current Dunhill due to the companies direction of disassociating themselves from tobacco. The only negative comment I think I could have about the blend is the the cut could use a little more attention, some of the strands were on the long and leathery side. Read Less

外观上看大部分是黑色的卡文迪什和拉塔基亚混合物，混合有少量的O草，草的裁切相对细致叶梗较少。点火抽吸是明显的烟熏奶油味，加上卡文迪什相对较高的甜味，L草含量中低，口味很好，每口都是香甜奶油烟熏味，中段开始烟气渐渐变得寡淡，好味道就在前中段，尾段比较鸡肋可以选择倒掉，考虑到价格实惠，总体不失为一款口粮好草。

This is a mild English that one could smoke all day. The Latakia is present but not over powering. The addition of Cavendish brings a sweetness that compliments the Orientals. Overall quite nice. With some age it will rival 965.

rhymes with 965 and only in the higher notes. It's a bit bitey if your not careful and is totally missing the pleasant slightly sharp leather of 965. The Sutliff match also lacks the nicotine strength. 965 also has a bolder flavor overall by a significant margin. The biggest problem, however, is the Cavendish component. 965 uses UNSWEETENED brown Cavendish. Sutliff uses an obviously sweetened Cavendish. I smoked 965 and this Sutliff match side by side....puff by puff. It's not a good match at all. I don't recommend. If you are looking for something that has the same spirit of 965, I would highly suggest you try Balkan Sasieni. It hits many of the same notes as 965 and is the best "match" of 965 currently available. Read Less

It starts off incredibly mild off the light with a subtle sweetness, almost a vanilla spice flavor. Halfway down the bowl it reaches a medium flavor where the toastiness of the Cavendish shines. Towards the bottom the Latakia's richness and smokiness build the overall complexity to a pleasing crescendo. A very pleasant overall smoke. If you let it sit out and dry a few hours, it's easier to tend.

Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with notes of very woody, smoky, earth, herbal spices, mildly spicy, musty dry, mildly sweet, floral, slight buttery, sour vegetation, a mild tangy lemon zest and moderate incense background note, and a peppery retro. Latakia with Oriental/Turkish is leading with Burley Cavendish and Virginias supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is good. Read Less

As with most sutliff matches I’ve just gotten in my order I regret buying them. They’re unique and interesting in a way, but don’t seem the best quality. Honestly wouldn’t waste my money on any of their matches. They never burn right and taste off.

han latakia only blends. I love the room note, it's soft, sweet, easy to smoke all the way down the bowl. Everyone's tastes are different but I get the taste of soft fruits and melons. This blend is near the top of my list of favorites, under Gawith's Bob's Chocolate and Lakeland blends. I bought some to cellar, I'm looking forward to see how this will be in a couple of years. say underwhelming only because it is nowhere near the front of this bus. This blend offers a confusing array of flavors from slightly bitter just tickling the back of the throat, to an odd Mish mash of sweetly sour citrus tobacco mash up deserving its own contemplation time prior to pondering life's intricacies. This blend will have it's own slot in the oddities section of my cellar. Side notes however are as follows: blend started a little moist dry time suggested not required. It did carry a bit of bite that I think a 6 mo time out would more than take care of. Can't wait to try some of this after it settles down a bit! Read Less

I have never tried the original 965, so I can't compare this to the original. It's a very good English blend with a latakia forward taste and aroma, but very balanced. Burns really well, too. Definitely worth a try!

Wanted to try the dunhill brand before reviewing this but couldn't wait. I have to say this is really good. Tastes great doesn't have a bite. For match this is really good.
