sty earthy taste and liked it. Not much pepper, very slight. The nicotine level was quite noticeable to me and I only packed a half bowl. I will say that I didn't feel like I was steeped in cigarette smoke afterward like some tobaccos tend to do. I do like that aspect. on. The granulated leaf is very tiny cut, and looks like a dusty / ashy grey. I think it is very interesting to compare the color of the tobacco I received to the jet black example given in the photograph on smoking pipes website.
Sampled in a MM Missouri Pride.
I was really hoping that there was a difference between the granulated and the long cut but honestly, I could probably cheat and use the tasting notes interchangeably. It’s a nice sweet smoky pepper taste and it’s strong. It’s very bold. Whereas some pipe blends make me think in terms of whiskey this makes me think in terms of coffee. Specifically strong truck stop coffee that’s 13 hours old and thick looking to the eye.
If you want to have fun, pack a bowl full of this almost sand-like mixture, light and push it a little hard and then retrohale a few times. Not only is the smoke as thick as pudding, but it’ll make your eyes water as the spiciness of the blend assaults the upper nasal passages.
The peppery element is so peppery that it makes it almost sweet as an aftertaste. Which is really cool.
It stinks in the room, but in a good way. It burns the nose, but in a good way.
If I was going to assign any type of boozy element to it, it’s almost like a raw grain whiskey. It’s too strong for rapid reloading and smoking bowls back to back honestly, but it’s very delicious. It’s not something that I want to smoke solo a lot. It is however, consistent through several bowls And like the other blending tobacco I feel that I’m better for having sampled it so that I can learn about the individual components and their characteristics.
