About This Pipe

We take the pleasure of presenting the work Emil Chonowitsch, father of Jess, and renown pipe maker in his own right. Unlike many of the pipe making families of note (Ivarsson would be an example, par excellence), Chonowitsch, the elder, was not a mentor to his son. Rather, both began as apprentices to Poul Rasmussen at his famous Suhr workshop in 1958. While both men learned, then practiced and maintained stellar attention to all aspects of pipe making, Emil's pipe tended to be more conservative. This pipe should make an attractive addition to any collector of the House of Chonowitsch, or the general, classic Danish enthusiast.
