About This Pipe
Carlo Scotti brought the Castello brand to life in the late 1940s, crafting his pipes in the same shadow of the Alps as the likes of Savinelli and the Rovera family. Scotti's workshop would eventually yield the independent workshops of Caminetto and Radice, both founded by former Castello artisans, but the Castello tradition continues today with the neoclassic designs that make northern Italy such an influential player in the industry of pipe making.
This Apple is especially round leading up to the rim of the bowl and irresistibly smooth to the touch thanks to the finish, which is a perfect compliment to the gentle light brown stain, making the grain appear quite natural. Birdseye and rolling cross grain alternate on the bowl, which balances quite easily on flat surfaces without any help. A tapered black acrylic stem finishes the piece, a very suitable addition to any Castello fan's collection.
