About This Pipe

Traditional English shaping fuses Italian style and design cues in Savinelli's "504" Bulldog. The "504 KS" carries those same distinctive styling elements in a substantially larger size, offering a more generous bowl and increased chamber capacity. The bowl and heel garner much attention, as expected with Italian neoclassic design, with the bowl rising tall above the beefy shank. The waistline is less portly, though, maintaining a trim, regal profile with mid-set beadlines and graceful tapering above and below. Crisp ridgelines define the shank-and-stem combination and meet the bowl with affable cheeking in this traditional composition.

The highest tier within Savinelli's standard lineup, the Giubileo d'Oro series presents the Italian marque's superlative pieces. Meaning "Golden Jubilee" in Italian, the Giubileo d'Oro series denotes Savinelli pipes par excellence, and the strict standards determining Giubileo d'Oro pieces mean that only 0.1% of Savinelli's total production is found worthy of the line's iconic three brass dot stem logo. As such, these pipes showcase choice grain patterns and exquisite finishes — from concisely defined sandblasts to gorgeously arrayed flame grain and birdseye. This particular example wears the line's smooth stain, highlighting the briar's natural grain in a traditional and vivid palette.
