About This Pipe

Davide Iafisco masterfully combines traditional Italian craftsmanship with influences from Danish, Japanese, and American design schools. A student of renowned artisans Teddy Knudsen and Claudio Cavicchi, Davide has developed a distinct style characterized by dynamic shapes, graceful lines, and occasional asymmetry. His pipes are celebrated for their fluid sense of movement and organic forms, often breaking from standard shapes to create unique, meticulously crafted pieces. This commitment to exceptional engineering and artistry is evident throughout his portfolio, showcasing Davide's talent and innovation in every pipe he crafts.

Although Davide Iafisco is an Italian pipe maker, his style moves away from traditional Italian aesthetics, instead aligning more with the Danish school of design. This style is seen clearly in this handsome bent Egg, which places a robust, well-canted bowl atop a lifted heel. The bowl displays a playful forward cant, while a heavily cheeked transition gives it a fuller silhouette. The bowl marries an upward-curving shank, giving teh silhouette an elliptical stance. Completing the profile is a demurely bent, hand-cut stem of cumberland. The stummel wears a contrast-rich sandblast that draws out intricate growth rings around the bowl and patches of birdseye along the underside.
