About This Pipe

Tsuge's Ikebana line stands as the pinnacle of the company's artisan tradition — its name drawn from the Japanese art of floral arrangement, where balance, form, and organic beauty converge. The workshop's creations seamlessly blend Japanese artistry with the flowing lines and organic forms often associated with Danish artisan design.

This Blowfish is a fine example of that philosophy in practice. One of the shapes most closely associated with the Danish school of pipe making, it is rendered here with crisp, flowing lines and a harmonious visual rhythm established by the bamboo shank and matching saddle stem. The bowl's softly inflated panels are framed by sharp ridgelines that accentuate the shape's distinctive asymmetry, while the bamboo extension adds both warmth and a sense of harmony. Dressed in a vibrant smooth finish, the stummel showcases stunning grain that follows the shaping with remarkable precision, as tight strands of flame grain sweep across the panels and lively birdseye adorns the broad flanks.
