About This Pipe

Celebrated for his meticulous craftsmanship and keen eye for detail, Wojtek Pastuch has established himself as a distinguished artisan within the pipe-making world. The Polish carver's work spans a broad spectrum — from refined classics to imaginatively expressive pieces — reflecting both technical precision and artistic flair. His shaping style draws clear inspiration from Danish and English traditions, with the former especially prominent given his time training under Tom Eltang in Denmark. Pastuch also honed his understanding of briar quality while working alongside Domenico "Mimmo" Romeo, one of the world's premier briar cutters, gaining valuable insight into the foundational role premium briar plays in a pipe maker's craft.

This Belge is one of Pastuch's more conservative designs, featuring a streamlined silhouette and a lean, elegant build. Measuring nearly eight inches in length, it boasts a generous reach, much of which is attributed to the bamboo shank extension. The dense grass draws the eye rearward, its evenly spaced knuckles running from the transition to the saddle stem's shoulders, establishing a measured rhythm across the pipe's aft. Framing the bamboo are twin accents of warthog tusk — pearly white bands that both emphasize the extension's placement and visually separate it from the rest of the composition.

Up front, the bowl displays the Belge shape's signature forward cant, introducing a subtle sense of movement to the otherwise poised silhouette. A dramatic taper runs from the wide heel to the taut rim, lending the form a fluid elegance that sits naturally in hand. The pipe is dressed in a warm, rich, smooth finish that accentuates the striking grain pattern around the bowl, with dense constellations of birdseye adorning its flanks.
