About This Pipe
Born in Bulgaria and now living in the Czech Republic, Kolyo Demirev fell in love with pipe making after seeking a more satisfying, creative career than his original work as an electrician. This bent Apple of his making has a generous bowl and very round walls finished with a shallow but craggy sandblast, inviting the fingers to enjoy the grain amid the very dark stain. The rim of the bowl is smoothly finished and decorated with birdseye, and the shank flares outward to a face defined by two crisp ridgelines along the bottom and a rounded arc on the top. The push-style stem is vulcanite with a single expansion ring, tapering lightly to the bit.
