About This Pipe
To me Cooke's pipes demand close inspection to see how he gets some of his details. Take this large bulldog, for example. When one sees a large elegant bend in the shank, they are correct. When one sees a single bead turned around the bowl, it's (seemingly) nothing new. Wrong! this was entirely shaped by hand, and close inspection reveals that the bead was carefully drawn on with a pencil and cut with a file (the bowl isn't perfectly round, and the bead is even in depth).
