Sean Reum Rusticated Rhodesian Tobacco Pipe

Sean Reum came around to pipes after starting out in restoration of a different, nostalgia-heavy collector's item — straight razors. The overlap between the two communities led him to an enduring fascination with pipes that continues to this day. Sean takes inspiration from the Danish school of pipe making in particular as he crafts his pipes in his workshop in northwest Montana.

This Rhodesian from Sean's workshop is fronted by a rather steep-walled bowl with a high beadline that frames a separate ring of rusticated briar about the rim, giving this piece an appearance almost like that of an inverted, straight-edged Apple. The rustication is deep throughout the stummel, running back to a smooth ring of briar at the tail end of the shank before the vulcanite saddle stem takes over.
