About This Pipe
While Tonino Jacono isn't the only carver to utilize olivewood in his work, he's certainly one of the most prolific, and it's never an unwelcome sight seeing a piece fashioned from the gorgeous material. In this offering, the Italian carver presents a flaring, muscular take on the Dublin, with the bowl displaying a charming forward cant in profile. Said bowl also houses plenty of chamber and sits on a flat heel. The use of olivewood, then, means the stummel is adorned in the medium's iconic, ink-swirled grain, making for a striking presentation especially when paired with an acrylic stem of shining ruby hues.
