About This Pipe
With roots dating back to 1911, Ardor has a rich history. After his father founded the Sociedade Rovera workshop in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Dorelio, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today. Together, they carry the torch and keep their family's legacy burning bright.
This Fantasy bent Apple lives up to its name, featuring bold, whimsical shaping from the Scoop-like profile to the paneled shank and stylized mount. Said mount is a hallmark of the Fantasy series, and this particular offering features a stormy, swirled acrylic stem paired to a shank face of darkly multicolored, striated wood for an eye-catching combination. The rest of the stummel wears a smooth finish and earthy stain that accentuate the briar's lovely grain, with a particularly lovely display of birdseye along the bowl's rim and aft wall.
