About This Pipe
With roots dating back to 1911, Ardor boasts a rich history. After his father founded the Sociedade Rovera workshop in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Dorelio, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today. Together, they stoke the flames and keep their family's legacy burning bright.
Showcasing the Italian marque's bold, inventive style, this bent Dublin offers a highly distinctive take on the classic shape. The bowl's undulating rim imbues the composition with a sense of dynamism and fluid motion — the latter of which is furthered by the sinuous curve of the shank and stem. This sweeping curvature continues into the heel of the bowl, which offers a satisfying presence in hand. Dressed in a rich, ruby-tinged version of Ardor's Meteora finish, the stummel showcases a rugged rustication set beneath a latticed arrangement of carved channels, granting the piece an architectural quality. Rich in both texture and color, the Meteora finish makes an excellent backdrop for both the swirled, amber-hued acrylic stem and the silver band at the junction.
