About This Pipe
Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, he realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque, Ashton. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This bent Billiard by Ashton is a hearty piece possessed of a palm-filling, tapered bowl and a thick, rounded shank that sweeps upward out of the transition, creating a robust, yet well-balanced, stummel. Furthermore, a slender saddle stem imbues the profile with a sleek character and provides a comfortable clench. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in Ashton's craggy Brindle sandblast, highlighting rugged grain in a dark, rustic stain, while the stem offers rich contrast thanks to its swirling green and black tones.
