About This Pipe
Balanced somewhere between classical English and the fuller Italian-neoclassical styles of proportion, this high-rimmed straight Billiard presents us with a combination of the smooth, broad lines typically seen in the latter, and a solid, yet trimmer form more reminiscent of the former. The result of this combination of line and form is a look possessing a reassuringly steady, tastefully quiet aesthetic. Ironically enough, the first thing such a combination always brings to mind for me is the design of the pipe in the great Belgian surrealist Magritte's "The Treachery of Images".
