About This Pipe
Founded in 1969 by former Castello employees Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, Caminetto has enjoyed years of success thanks to their unique, innovative approach that helped shape the Italian neoclassic carving style. Today, Guiseppe's grandson, Tommaso "Tommi" Ascorti, carries on the Caminetto legacy, handcrafting each pipe to perfection. This Hawkbill is one of the latest offerings from the Italian marque, and with its exaggerated proportions and dramatic silhouette, it's an excellent example of their bold, innovative style.
This offering possesses an exceptionally plump, hearty bowl, which has been paired to the signature upswept shank and downturned stem integral to the Hawkbill shape. Bulging curves on either side of the shank add complexity and an extra bit of flourish to the form. A smooth, honey-blonde finish dresses most of the stummel, while a dark rustication along the shank adds a bold sense of tonal and textural contrast. With such distinctive shaping and finishing, this bold piece is sure to stand out in any pipe collection.
