About This Pipe
Founded in 1969 by former Castello employees Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, Caminetto has enjoyed years of success thanks to their unique, innovative approach that helped shape the Italian neoclassic carving style. Today, Guiseppe's grandson, Tommaso "Tommi" Ascorti, carries on the Caminetto legacy, handcrafting each pipe to perfection. Despite its overall compact dimensions, this Rhodesian from the Italian marque has quite exaggerated proportions, especially around the shank, which is much more robust than your average iteration of the classic shape. The shapeliness of the shank affords ample room to drape a digit, and the broad, beadline-adorned bowl houses a moderately sized chamber that's well-suited for a variety of blends and occasions. This piece comes dressed in a smooth, ruby-hued finish, which accentuates the briar's handsome grain quite nicely and offers plenty of elegant appeal.
