About This Pipe
Since their founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes has helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. Instantly recognizable as a Castello, the "55" bent Pot is, perhaps, the marque's most iconic shape, and this particular pipe draws strongly on the famed form. Most notably, the "55" features a prominent heel that protrudes dramatically from the bowl, which this pipe clearly shares; the protracted heel forms the nadir of the bowl and begins an upward arc that extends all the way to the bit, creating a Hawkbill-esque curve along the bottom of the pipe. This particular bent Pot is dressed in Castello's Collection finish, highlighting wispy flame grain and whorls of birdseye in a warm stain.
