About This Pipe

One of the biggest names in Italian pipe making today, Castello's roots can be traced back to 1947, when Carlo Scotti founded the workshop and began producing handmade briar pipes. At the time, handmade briars were uncommon in Italy, but that would soon change as Castello discovered customers' desire for high-quality, handcrafted pipes. In a time of quantity over quality in Italy's pipe making history, Castello flipped the script by prioritizing craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and cutting-edge engineering. Today, the brand remains committed to these same principles, as evidenced by this expertly crafted Fiammata Bulldog.

The bowl of this Bulldog stands formidably at the fore of a thick, tapering, shank-and-stem arrangement. Said arrangement showcases the Bulldog's characteristic diamond shaping throughout, and the bowl's high waistline is accentuated by the shape's trademark pair of beadlines. Due to the pronounced taper of the shank and stem, the attention remains steadily on the bowl up front, which houses a generous chamber within. This offering wears the smooth, deep walnut finish of the Collection line, which accentuates the gorgeous grain that has earned Castello's esteemed Fiammata grade.
