About This Pipe
Claudio Cavicchi has spent over half a century honing his craft and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. While all of his pieces are made of high-quality briar and showcase expert shaping, there is a grading system among the artisan's pipes to further designate their individual caliber. Thanks to its gorgeous grain and masterful shaping, this particular offering has received an impressive CCCC grade.
This offering is quite a distinctive take on the Rhodesian shape. The bowl is quite trim and perky, its high waist demarcated by a pair of crisp beadlines. Out back, a lengthy, subtly flared shank emerges from the subtly cheeked transition. In combination with the swiftly bent bit of the saddle stem, the protracted length of the shank promotes a relaxed smoking posture in hand. Dressed in a smooth, honey-blonde finish, the stummel showcases a wealth of stunning grain that has earned this pipe its impressive four-C grade.
