About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops.
This bent Billiard is a thoroughly Italian neoclassical take on the classic shape, featuring a muscular, jutting heel from which the bowl's walls rise with a subtle taper. A low-lying shank emerges from the angular transition out back, and is joined by an elegantly tapered and demurely bent stem of jet-black acrylic. The stummel wears Cavicchi's Black sandblasted finish, with only the rim of the bowl and a slender ring near the junction left smooth and stained a ruby-tinged hue for a pop of contrast.
