About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops. Having received a stellar five-C grade, this bent Brandy is a thoroughly exemplary piece from the seasoned artisan.
The bowl of this Brandy is affably plump, and offers a satisfying presence in hand. It's paired to a thick, upturned shank with a mount of spalted beechwood that introduces an eye-catching yet cohesive change in tone and texture. Joining the mount is a stylized saddle stem whose deep bend promotes a comfortable clench. Stunning grain abounds throughout the stummel, making it apparent how this piece earned its esteemed CCCCC grade, and it's finished in Cavicchi's signature smooth, honey-blonde finish.
