Smooth Acorn (CCCCC) Tobacco Pipe

One of Italy's finest pipe makers, Claudio Cavicchi has carved pipes for over 40 years and is still going strong. Cavicchi crafts a wide variety of shapes, and each one showcases spectacular grain patterns dressed in his signature smooth and sandblasted finishes. A hallmark of Italian pipe making, and Cavicchi's work in particular, is the thoughtful use of briar grain throughout each pipe's design. This Acorn is a fine example of his artistry, earning one of Claudio's highest standard grades: five "C" stamps.

The profile is fluid and well-balanced, beginning with a noticeably canted bowl crowned by a plump, softly contoured rim blanketed in birdseye. An open transition carries that cant seamlessly into the rear of the pipe, while the shank tapers gracefully upward toward the sleek acrylic stem. The stem introduces a gentle downturn toward the bit, complementing the pipe's flowing lines. Finished in a warm honey-blonde stain, the stummel highlights fine tendrils of flame grain that dance along the bowl's flanks.
