About This Pipe
The story of the Musico workshop began with Giorgio Musico, who frequently bought pipes from Italian pipe maker Fritz Becker. Their sons, Massimo Musico and Paolo Becker, would go on to found the Becker & Musico workshop, which primarily crafted classic pipe shapes. Eventually, the two went their separate ways, with Massimo Musico continuing to pursue a traditional aesthetic under the name Musico.
One such form from Musico is this handsome bent Billiard, with dramatic proportions that make it a handsome showcase of the Italian school of design. The tall bowl stands slightly forward-canted, while the round, elongated shank extends just beyond the height of the bowl. The stummel is finished in a smooth, deep mahogany stain, highlighting cross grain and patches of birdseye throughout the bowl.
