About This Pipe
The "106," "107," and "X105" are all robust variations of the straight Billiard from Peterson. While each one showcases the Irish marque's conventional robustness at the shank and transition, this "X105" trims down that aesthetic just a tad by comparison, presenting a more traditionally English style. That said, it still offers more substance than, say, the "06" or "15" iterations. Such a diverse portfolio of classic shapes allows Peterson to cater to all preferences of length, chamber depth, and weight — with the "X105" finding a perfect balance between extremes.
Similar to the Donegal Rocky series, Peterson's Derry line dresses pipes in a rugged rustication, but instead of a jet-black mouthpiece, the Derry features an acrylic stem of swirling chocolate and caramel tones. Named after the second largest city in Ireland, known for its distinctively hilly topography, this series appropriately dresses the stummel of each piece in a craggy, well-textured rustication with an earthy walnut stain over top. A bright nickel army mount completes the presentation, offering some aesthetic flash and allowing the pipe to be broken down easily for cleaning.

Customer Reviews
In use, the pipe has been extremely well behaved. The draw is open and effortless, and it has smoked cool and smooth from the start. After a dozen or so bowls, it continues to stay cool with no moisture or heat issues. Mouth comfort is outstanding—it feels like a natural extension of the mouth.
I’ve been smoking Virginia and VaPer flakes (Peter Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake and Escudo), and the X105 handles them beautifully. The chamber geometry and overall balance make it especially well suited to flakes, rewarding a slower cadence and letting the sweetness develop without overheating. This has become a go-to pipe for relaxed outdoor afternoon smokes.
I would confidently recommend this pipe to Virginia smokers, and also to beginners who want a forgiving, high-quality pipe that encourages good technique rather than fighting it.
Pros:
-Excellent balance; solid but very light in use
-Outstanding stem comfort
-Cool, dry, well-behaved smoker
-Particularly well suited to Virginia and VaPer flakes
-Ideal for relaxed, longer smokes...Read More
