About This Pipe

Founded in 1982 by Giancarlo Guidi, Ser Jacopo has built a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Though Guidi passed away in 2012, his legacy lives on not only in the pipes he crafted, or the company he founded, but in the language of design that he helped to pioneer. This Bulldog showcases a stylized look that fits well within the brand's neoclassically-oriented portfolio. The bowl here towers over the rest of the pipe, though the shank and stem are appropriately thick and do well to balance some of the bowl's presence as it flares to twin beadlines from atop its firm-lined heel. The bowl rises to over two inches tall, tapering to the rim from its beadlines and offering an overtly muscular feel in hand that the diamond-shaped shank and stem reciprocate readily. Dressed in a crisp sandblast and black stain, the stummel showcases a wealth of handsome grain throughout, making every inch of this weighty briar intriguing.
