About This Pipe

Based in Pesaro, Italy, and founded in 1982, the Ser Jacopo workshop has a long-standing reputation for innovation when it comes to Italian pipe making. The founder of Ser Jacopo, Giancarlo Guidi, defied convention when he established his workshop and began producing pipes that diverged from the Anglo-French shape-chart classics, instead drawing inspiration from fine art, and even daily life on the island of Pesaro. Until his passing in 2012, Guidi experimented with playful proportions and bold finishes, paving the way for a new style of pipe making that's still beloved today. This bent Billiard from Ser Jacopo is a rather lithe offering from the Italian marque, but still boasts the bold, bowl-centric shaping for which they are known.

The fore of the bowl takes on a subtle curve, while the aft wall remains comparatively straight and linear, creating an angular transition with the lifted shank-and-stem arrangement. The stem's protracted length and gracile bend encouraging a comfortable in-hand smoking posture, while the bowl boasts a generous chamber with plenty of room for a hearty helping of a favorite blend. The stummel wears a rich, smooth inky finish, which furthers the ensemble's already elegant appearance.
