With roots dating to 1848, Vauen is Germany's longest running pipe manufacturer. Vauen is also the originator of the Dr. Perl activated carbon filter, which quickly became a standard feature on all of their pipes. The Basic line is designed to offer Vauen's high-quality smoking instruments in classic style at an accessible price. The series is offered in six shapes with four finish options. This example is the classic bent Billiard in the 1400 edition's smooth brown finish. Like all of Vauen's standard offerings, it comes drilled to accommodate a 9mm filter.
