Mixture Monster: The Perfect Halloween Blend
It's that wonderful time of year again. Those who work around me here at Smokingpipes.com know that I've been ready for Halloween for quite some time. Well, it has finally arrived: leaves on the ground, chill in the air, and jack o' lanterns smiling mischievously in the dark. There is only one obvious choice for me when it comes to deciding which tobacco to smoke in October. That choice is Cornell & Diehl's Mixture Monster.
I remember the first time I tasted the magic of Mixture Monster. It was a dark and stormy night... just kidding. It was sitting on the couch of the infamous Halloween pipe carver himself, Trever Talbert. My husband Kaz and I had been friends with him and his wife Emily online for a while and finally, we set a date to meet in person. I wanted to bring something to impress him that also had something to do with Halloween and pipes. Naturally, Mixture Monster was the perfect gift.
We arrived at their house, walked in, and all stared at each other in awkward silence. I held up the tin, and he smiled and gave us both a huge hug. I cracked it open and immediately got tingles of delight when the smell of candy corn filled the room. I loaded a bowl and began to smoke. I was in Halloween pipe heaven. I don't know how the mad scientists of C&D managed it, but it tasted like Halloween. With hints of chocolate, caramel, apples, and cinnamon, there couldn't be a more perfect tobacco for Halloween than this frightfully delicious blend. Though the mixture is very sweet, you can still taste the Cavendish throughout the whole smoke. That's part of the reason why I prefer C&D aromatics above all others. They always make sure to never overpower the tobacco. Unsurprisingly, we all loved it. Every October since, we return to the Talbert household with a tin of Mixture Monster for a celebratory spooky smoke.
Not only does this blend taste amazing, but the tin art is equally impressive. Each year the designers seem to top themselves, and this year is no exception. Featuring a kind of 80s horror poster feel, these tins are certainly worth collecting. I hope you all have a wonderful October and give this fantastic blend a try.
Here are all 4 if you dare to take a look!
You've seen it before, you know its face
But back again it comes to get its taste.
The same Cavendish blend you love to fear,
Now with four new designs to make it clear:
The Curse of Mixture Monster is upon us all,
Haunting the land once again this fall.
Give into the thrall... of this succulent mixture
The Hound (my personal favorite)
This blend won't bite... too much!
Rose are red,
Violets are blue,
Enjoying Mixture Monster?
Devil Doll does too!
They just sat down to enjoy an evening pipe
They thought they were alone
But are they?
Ever?

I know evil is cool these days, but those Tins are discusting. I love you smokingpipes, but hate those blends. I get sick jyst looking at them.
Good luck with the hurricane from us in the outerbanks.
@Johnnyiii They're definitely not for everyone, but the tins do have their fans. And thank you for thinking about us, though it sounds like you guys might be worse off up there. Stay safe and good luck.
Are these blends an aromatic?
@Corey Stanton Yes, The Curse of Mixture Monster is a crowd favorite aromatic blend!
I like the tin art. Being born in 1972, the artwork is reminiscent of the old Hammer horror films.
