About This Pipe
The absence of a shape number in Dunhill stamping indicates that the pipe is to be referred to as a "Quaint". Frequently, these Quaints involve flights of fancy by the Dunhill artisans that showcase dramatic variations on traditional themes. As is the case with this piece, the shape will many times follow the contours of the grain so as to highlight some particular feature that is eye catching. With a grain this fine and the presence of regal sterling at the mount, as far as catching the eye goes, I think we can call this one a big "Mission Accomplished".
