About This Pipe
Poul Winslow, though probably best known for his superlative freehands; a form that he apprenticed and later mastered under Preben Holm, also shows a solid breadth of repertoire within the Danish neo-classic school. That preamble out of the way, Poul doesn't create many rhodesians. this is only the third that we have received from the artist. This charming, Crown 200 Grade might have been plucked off a shape chart (Granted, a Danish shape chart) and should delight the traditionalist with its intuitive execution of form. From the subtle taper of the bowl from heel to rim to the graceful arc of the shank and tapered stem, this pipe oozes charm as well as an understated elegance.
