About This Pipe
A hearty Danish Billiard shape, this eager looking fellow from Former is a comforting piece, rendered with plenty of visual weight lent to the bowl, juxtaposed by a slender, rounded shank and saddle-stem. It houses a good bit of chamber, of course, and despite its hearty shaping, it's surprisingly lightweight in hand. Former's treated this one to a very well-defined sandblast, unveiling a magnificent display of ring-grain climbing up all flanks, finished with a warm, smoldering ruby stain and complemented by a creamy ivorite mount. Former's also gone one further, lending a touch of space between the mortise face and the circular base of the stem, making use of a little negative space in profile. Cool stuff.
