ky, wood, sweet, herbal incense, dry peaty vegetation, spicy, orange peel/zest, spices, toasted bread, earth, mildly acidic, buttery, mildly bitter, a mildly sour mild citrus background note, and a peppery retro. Latakia is leading with Oriental/Turkish providing a little more support than the Virginias. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More

When I opened the can, this tobacco was so dry that it literally turned to dust particles as I held it between my fingers. Last Seattle Pipe Club tobacco I ever buy.

his is a delicious blend. It’s got a heavy lat profile but doesn’t leave you with a harsh taste in your mouth when you’re done. It’s got a smooth bit of spice to it and tastes fantastic. I’d agree with the can and call it a medium/full English blend. Latakia forward with orientals and reds rounding out. The tobacco arrived fresh with the perfect amount of moisture in the tin. The tin I ordered arrived vacuum sealed with a pull tab and metal top which I love because it can be stored almost indefinitely if not opened....Read More

es between this and quiet nights and though at this point I feel quiet nights is my favorite of the two, rainier Levant I thoroughly enjoy also. It's a tight race for me, and though I haven't smoked enough RL to give my final judgement and review. I know enough to give it a positive review here. I smoked both tobaccos fresh and now with 6 months of age and for both the Latakia has softened a little and the virginias sweetened. The Turkish tobaccos are what distinguishes both of these blends from the pack for me. I don't know which orientals are used (maybe izmir and Macedonian?) , but both have a very similar flavor profile for me. There is plenty of Latakia here for those who crave it, and just enough sweetness to keep me puffing steady. I do think quiet nights edges ahead slightly for me because I feel the broken flake process and presentation really refines such a powerful and flavorful blend, and qn is the more balanced. In my opinion if you love one you'll love the other too. Superb flavors and the right amount of nicotine, while not exhausting my palate even after a large bowl. I don't think I could smoke it more than twice a day but maybe. Rainier Levant is rich in Latakia smokiness and sweet/zesty orientals, but I don't consider it a lat bomb. For me it's a very tasty treat to be enjoyed anytime, but for now mostly as my nightcap....Read More
