I think Carolina Red Flake may have spoiled me a bit. This blend is extremely good, but to me it lacks a little depth. That said, I think some time in the cellar will really benefit it. A little age should smooth out the rough edges and allow the flavors to come together. I recently got a tin of this tobacco and wow!!!!!!!!!! This is an outstanding Va/Pr. I wish I would have found it sooner but I'm glad I finally did. If you like Virginia/Perique blends, this is a must try.

Red Carpet is normally a solid smoke. The tobacco is ready to smoke straight out of the tin. The Virginia tobaccos come across bright and fruity with nice notes of citrus fruit and hay. But every few bowls come across very bland and lack the depth of flavor. If it was a little more consistent it would be an excellent every day smoke for Virginia smokers....Read More

I liked this quite a bit and with a good cadence it's very fruity and well-behaved. Burns very well, too, which is a plus for me as I don't like having to relight often.

This blend reminds me a lot of GL Pease Fillmore, which is also a red Virginia/Perique blend.
