This tastes very close (to me anyway) Father Dempsey but just a bit bolder from the burley and that stoving process. It tastes, earthy, dark n fermented through the whole bowl.
I have loved every cake tobacco from C&D.

I love Virginia blends and English. But I always find myself needing more of a kick with a lot of English blends. This has the perfect amount. Has a decent punch but still Smokey. Will now always be in rotation

I tried a 2oz tin of this stuff with a little trepidation, not sure what I was getting myself into, but I’m very glad I did. This is a blend that, because of the wide variety of tobaccos along with the hot-pressed and cake form, makes it fairly difficult to discern the different tobaccos during basically anything but the charring light. Once it gets burning, it has a flavor all its own and I happen to think it’s really delicious. Nicotine content is what I’d call medium-strong, just slightly more than Night Train but not near as much as HH Bold Kentucky. The flavors and nicotine level go exceptionally well with morning coffee, and the room note is very reminiscent of something like dark chocolate with a hint of that Latakia pine camp fire smell. I hate to say it but this blend is rank! Unpleasant tin note, rank room note, and a very disappointing taste. Maybe this blend needs to cellar more. Smoked it with 2 years of age. I may never buy again , but only to age and try again to redeem the last experience.

Just sampled some of my Christmas gift. This smokes like what I had in the 80s, from a house blend. Except, five times smoother. I plan on buying 10 tins. Very smooth, and tasty. It will be good to compare against new product. It's excellent morning smoke for me.
