The highest quality Perique available and excellent, vintage Orientals provide support and add complexity, but they aren’t the stars of the show. This is a crash course in quality leaf and expert blending & processing. Age will be kind to this blend, but for the first time in years I’ll be struggling to let tins reach old age rather than just enjoying them all straight away. Read Less

weetness I was expecting from the tin description and available reviews. The bowl progresses to a predominant bitterness rather than sweetness, with woodiness and vegetable notes. Strangely, the taste reminds me of black-eyed peas more than anything else. I'm saddened to nearly dismay that I'm not able to appreciate the sweetness others find in this blend. This is the first C&D product I have not enjoyed. I don't know if I will finish the tin, and would gladly swap my second tin for another Midsommar or Innsmouth or Oriental silk. Or a pint of frozen black-eyed peas. My opinion here is of course not meant to be argumentative with other reviewers, and I hope those who weren't able to get a tin find solace in hearing they may not have enjoyed the blend as much as they'd thought they would. It's smooth, slow and cool-burning, on the positive side, and nicotine is strong. Read Less

I had high expectations but after the first smokes I'm disappointed, it has no flavor or aroma, maybe it's a little too humid? I'll try to let it dry but I doubt it will change much.

purchase a few and wish you had more. Either way not to drone on about availability or marketing I feel like that is worth a mention. As far as the tobacco goes my take on it would be that it’s like enjoying Chinese food on a fresh cut field next to a bakery up wind from you. This time I’m glad I got just lucky enough. Read Less

m used to tasting wines...so my descriptions will be more from that world.)
Suggestion on preparing the tobacco. Rub out, then be sure to let it dry a bit. There was a bit too much moisture for my liking. I also tore the strands into much shorter lengths, I prefer a "shaggier" cut; I created about a quarter of the tin into near cube-like sized pieces to slow down the burn-rate.
Overall...love this blend, smooth, enjoyable, can be an all-day bowl as well as companion to my usual Lat-forward English "diet. Five stars. Read Less

woody notes. Despite its high sugar content, it smokes very smooth and tongue bite is avoidable. It is delicious right out of the tin and has tremendous aging potential. I hope Cornell and Diego brings this line back next year and gives it the Sun Bear treatment by making annual editions. I rarely rate tobaccos on this site but this tin was too captivating to be quiet about it. I hope this helped if you were on the fence. Read Less
