Gawith, Hoggarth & Co's Glengarry Flake is a similar blend of pure Virginia leaf as Bright CR Flake, but with the addition of some special casings to enhance the natural sweetness of the leaf, finished off with a smooth top flavor of Honey Dew and other flavorings which all combine after pressing to provide a mellow, sweet, and gentle aromatic smoke.

Very nice, natural tasting flake tobacco. I cannot discern any particular flavor. It has a little nicotine hit and can burn hot if puffed too quickly. At the right pace it offers a relaxing smoke of natural tobacco taste. Recommend.

Package note of hay, fermented vegetation and mild floral honey. Tobacco is a flake of marbled light and dark browns. Moisture content is great. Flakes rub out with a little effort. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild to medium. Flavoring is medium, with notes of Honey Dew and sweet Whisky. Both flavors begin just shy of medium and end a little stronger than mild. Taste is medium and very consistent, with notes of honey dew, sugar, spices, sweet whiskey, floral, wood, semi-sweet ripe fruit, bread, orange zest, earth, lemon grass, savory, mildly acidic, tart and tangy citrus, a sweet hay background note, and a mildly peppery almost smooth retro. Nearly forgot that I have this in my between my tobaccos. Citrusy Virginia with some some bread and sugar. Some Lakeland topping, but most likely not that dominant. As others have written before; no tongue bite, nice nic hit. Easy to rub out and could be smoked the whole day. If you puff this one as I did during mornings, over coffee, you want to give this medium-bodied GH flake your full attention, or enough of it. So as Blake (Alec Baldwin) yells in the classic film Glengary Glen Ross, “put that coffee down!” And light up, and see if you get the same impression I did. Am I missing something? As an aromatic tobacco lover I can say that I couldn't get any aroma except tobacco's own one that is fantastic. You can feel the history of pressing and processing of the tobacco. At first it couldn't get the fire easily. But then when the fire make itself repeat and repeat it started to burn very balanced. I could see the core as the same until the end of the smoke. This is far from a bright tasting Tobacco. In fact its dark and musty but in a very good way. great taste, and after taste as well. Very gentle, but full of flavor. Glengarry Flake is the third Lakeland blend I've tried thusfar, and is a worthy addition to my collection. The aroma in the jar is that of the Lakeland essence, though lightly applied. It is really pleasant and complimentary to the Virginia tobacco. The topping is not apparent in the smoke after the first few puffs, or at least not like that of the stronger Lakeland blends. Instead, it bolsters the sweet virginia flavor without subduing it, keeping it interesting from top to bottom. If you enjoy Gawith and Hoggarths bright CR flake then in my opinion you will like Glengarry even more. It is not one of my favorite GH blends, but I find myself smoking it frequently nonetheless. What Glengarry offers is a mildy sweet and tasty Virginia tobacco that is mild-medium in strength and nicotine, and blend that can be smoked several times in a day.
