About This Pipe Tobacco

Select Virginias and a pinch of Perique go into this distinctive offering, which is pressed and fermented for six weeks before being cut into 275 gram "blocks" — the term rods might be more fitting.

Note: While most packages of Peter Heinrichs' Curly Block come in one block, some may vary in their presentation, having been already cut into multiple plugs by the manufacturer rather than in a single, intact block.

awesome!

Product: Peter Heinrichs Curly Block 275g
Package note of spiced plumes and sugar-coated Rasins. Tobacco is tan, brown and dark brown 1.5-inch-thick rope. Moisture content is ok, though many will opt to dry it a bit. Recommend slicing with a sharp thin knife or razor and rubbing out before drying. Burns slow with few relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild to medium. No flavoring detected, though its listed. Taste is medium and consistent, with notes of stewed dark sour plums, orange peel, spicy, dry wood, sweet grass, rich earth, spice, bread, savory, floral, hay, acidic, mildly lemony, leather, zest, mildly bitter, a tart and tangy citrus background note, and a very peppery retro. Virginia is leading with Perique supporting. Burley is listed, but I couldn't discern any. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is great....Read More
Couldn’t make it work

Product: Peter Heinrichs Curly Block 275g
I’m not a newbie and I just couldn’t make this work in my pipe. So I did what any rational person would do I ordered more and put it away for a few years. Still haven’t touched it. But I remember that first week of struggling with it and trying to get it to smoke the way the top reviewers on tobacco reviews.com said it should smoke. I just didn’t have any luck. I’ll come back to it and update the review. But this one is really not for novices and come to think of it it’s not for your avg casual smoker either. I hope to have great things to report this time next year. Don’t feel bad if you missed out because it’s hard to get. Shrug it off and go with Solani....Read More
Sweet smoke, but too many leaf stalks

Product: Peter Heinrichs Curly Block 275g
The appearance of this kind of tobacco is quite special, which makes a person's eyes shine.
The smoke was delicious and sweet, and I can't describe the soothing smell. The sweetness is also noticeable and burns smoothly.
It is estimated that many whole tobacco leaves are pressed into thick sti
cks, which promotes the formation of tobacco flavor. However, because the whole tobacco leaves are used, the stalks in tobacco leaves are not removed, and many stalks appear when kneading tobacco.
In general, tobacco has a unique flavor, obvious sweetness, rich and smooth smoke, and smooth combustion, but there is room for improvement in quality

Pricey? Not at all

Product: Peter Heinrichs Curly Block 275g
So it's gonna cost you, but you get what you pay for. Usually, but here you get more than what you pay for. This is the 2nd best VA/per I ever had. I get tastes of apricot, and I've read others say the same. But it you will love it For some reason I can't give it 5 stars. It's really 6bstar. The only thing better is Balkan sobrani...Read More
Why so expensive?
April 25, 2020
Product: Peter Heinrichs Curly Block 275g
Yes, a fantastic VaPer from Peter Heinrichs, deep rich and perfectly balanced with Perique spice & sweet Virginias. The price in 2020 is $80.50 for 275g which in my opinion is far too expensive. I went for Escudo, which IMO is just as good.
