I’d always been told that some Virginias have a brioche or pastry-like taste… I’d tried Union Square, Opening Night, and Peterson Flake, but I never really noticed a clear sweet, bakery-like aroma. With Best Brown Flake, though—yes. It’s a mild tobacco, but you feel nicotine enough. Maybe a bit too gentle and flat at the beginning of the bowl, but delicious. S.Gawith makes these tobaccos quite humidified. The tobacco is engineered to last, as they are sent all over the world. From arid deserts, to the Amazon basin, these tobaccos are meant to last until opened.
So, when you purchase a tin or tray, it’s your business to bring the tobaccos to the desired level of humidity. ( I prefer dried out quite a bit. Not crunchy, but barely pliable.
All that out of the way. Here we have a deliciously sweet Virginia. Is there brown sugars added? I’m not sure, but, I wouldn’t doubt a very small amount.
