About This Pipe

Per Georg Jensen and his wife founded the Georg Jensen pipe factory in Copenhagen in 1954, passing it on to their daughter Lis and son Per Georg in the 1980s. The factory closed in 2001 when the younger Per Georg went to work for Mac Baren Tobacco Company, but their pipes live on as fine examples of Danish craftsmanship. The bowl of this Dublin from the Jensen factory is a staggering two and one-half inches tall and decorated with handsome alternating cross grain and birdseye, then topped with a smooth, lightly inflated rim. The shank is very short before yielding to a vulcanite mount and tapered vulcanite stem, the latter quite lengthy to push this piece past six inches in all.
