About This Pipe
A. Gui pipes are the work of Chinese artisan Su Wugui of Hangzhou, who used a thick, curved piece of bamboo to bridge the half saddle vulcanite stem and dramatic smooth Mushroom bowl of this pipe. The shank arcs dramatically backward to form the aft of the bowl up to the rim, which is covered in birdseye, heavily muscular, and formed of multiple waves. That's all before observing the wonderful flame grain of the bowl, which is densely packed all the way around and finished smoothly to easily catch the light — and the eye.
