About This Pipe
J.T. Cooke is known to devote anywhere from 24 to 40 hours to a single pipe, not including the additional two weeks of curing each piece undergoes. He even hand-pours the acrylic used for his stems, a meticulous process in its own right. The extraordinary labor involved in each pipe results in a years-long waiting list, making this Billiard a rare opportunity for those unwilling to wait.
This Billiard offers a striking take on the classic shape-chart standard, featuring a tall, muscular bowl positioned prominently at the front of the composition. The bowl's thick walls house a generously deep chamber, while a wide transition leads into a sleek, arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The junction is accented with a bright metallic shell casing, adding a touch of contrast to the pipe's palette. A rich, smooth chestnut stain completes the piece, beautifully highlighting flame grain across the bowl's flanks.
