About This Pipe

David Huber is an American artisan pipe maker whose work blends innovation with reverence for tradition. What began over a decade ago as a hobby shaping briar at home has since evolved into a full-time career. Huber has developed a style marked by meticulous attention to detail, innovation, and deep respect for tradition, taking inspiration from the Danish and Japanese schools of design, and primarily focuses on curvaceous, gestural Freehands, though he occasionally incorporates traditional shapes.

Situated at the intersection of the traditional Danish style and the Danish Fancy Freehand movement, this Asymmetrical bent Dublin is a striking piece from Huber. The bowl is the defining feature of the design, with its softly sloping heel and rim creating an asymmetrical, almost half-circular silhouette. The bowl's flowing lines contrast beautifully with the craggy plateau that crowns the rim. The grain is equally impressive, with dense clusters of birdseye covering one flank of the stummel while the opposite side showcases crisp, well-defined cross grain.
