About This Pipe

With a storied history dating back to 1911, the Ardor marque is a long-standing family business that is still owned and operated by the descendants of the original founder. After his father founded Sociedade Rovera in Varese, Italy, young Angelo Rovera knew he wanted to carry on the family's legacy within the pipe industry. With the help of his son, Angelo established Ardor in 1974, and worked to maintain the high level of craftsmanship and quality products he'd been brought up with. After Angelo's passing over 20 years later in 1999, his grandsons, Damiano and Dimitri, took over the business and still run it today.

Displaying the extroverted style of the workshop, this bent Dublin takes a playful approach to proportion. The bowl is tall and dramatically flared, recalling the proportions of a Stack while reaching nearly three inches in height. A close-set shank arches upward from the bowl, tapering as it approaches the junction, where a scalloped metallic accent adds a decorative touch before giving way to a multicolored stem in shades of blue and brown. The stummel wears Ardor's iconic Meteora finish, named after the dramatic rock formations in Greece that are home to a group of Eastern Orthodox monasteries. The finish offers plenty of textural variety, with rugged rustication set beneath a latticed arrangement of carved channels.
