About This Pipe
Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, he realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque Ashton. Sadly, Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This Dublin by Ashton is a trim rendition of the classic shape, measuring just under six inches in length. The bowl is formed by walls that flare out from a round heel to a broad rim. A 90-degree transition gives way to a round shank that pairs to an elongated stem that makes up most of the composition's overall length. Ashton's iconic Pebble Grain sandblast dresses the stummel, which provides a wealth of tactile detail. A silver accent sits along the junction and adds a touch of flash to the otherwise muted color palette.
