About This Pipe
In addition to being one of England's few artisan pipe makers, Chris Askwith is also a remarkably skilled silversmith. Askwith is known to offer modern twists on classic shapes, and his pipes typically showcase his stunning silverwork — often alongside other unique materials. Though this Nosewarmer Dublin is void of any flashy accent materials, it features a strikingly patterned stem that, paired to the crisply sandblasted stummel, speaks entirely for itself.
Measuring just under four inches in length and weighing well under an ounce, this trim, airy Dublin can be easily clenched and smoked on the go. Despite its abbreviated Nosewarmer length, this pipe boasts a moderately sized bowl that's optimal for a wide variety of blends and smoking occasions. Eye-catching vortexes of birdseye and rippling waves of ring grain adorn the stummel, emphasized by a vividly textured sandblast and a warm, earthy stain. This warm sandblast makes a handsome backdrop for the eye-catching polyester stem, which features neatly packed stripes of black and smoky lavender that extend uninterrupted from the base of the saddled shoulders all the way to the button of the slender bit. It's not often you come across a pipe with a striped stem, let alone one that looks as deceptively effortlessly crafted as this.
