Sandblasted Acorn (Two Clubs) (2022) Tobacco Pipe

Founded in 1974, the Becker workshop is a family-owned workshop in Italy currently manned by third-generation artisan Federico Becker. Having learned from his father and grandfather before him, Federico has cultivated a unique style marked by crisp shaping and rakish, angular silhouettes.

This is a more robust take on the Acorn shape than previous iterations we've seen from the Italian marque, especially around the bowl. The rim retains the trademark plumpness of the shape-chart standard, yet this plumpness also carries over to the heel, forgoing Becker's typical crisp, pointed shaping, and melding seamlessly into the thick transition out back. From here, the piece exhibits the typical rakishness associated with Becker, as the slender shank and tapering stem keep things sleek in profile, and maintain focus on the bowl up front. The stummel wears a dark, smoky sandblast, revealing tight waves of ring grain, and it's topped off with a fetching cumberland stem.
