About This Pipe
Founded in 1969 by former Castello employees Guiseppe Ascorti and Luigi Radice, Caminetto has enjoyed years of success thanks to their unique, innovative approach that helped shape the Italian neoclassic carving style. Today, Guiseppe's grandson, Tommaso "Tommi" Ascorti, carries on the Caminetto legacy, handcrafting each pipe to perfection. This striking Rhodesian is one of the latest offerings from the Italian marque, and with its exaggerated proportions and dramatic silhouette, it's an excellent example of their bold, innovative style.
This Rhodesian possesses a fairly classic — albeit slightly large — bowl, its high waist demarcated by a single, crisp beadline. Behind the bowl, a rather Hawkbill-like shank introduces a thickly tapered stem of jet-black acrylic. The shank bulges outward when viewing this piece from above, and the underside showcases a wealth of attractive birdseye. Dressed in warm, honey-blonde smooth finish, this piece is sure to stand out in any pipe collection.
