About This Pipe

One of the biggest names in Italian pipe making today, Castello's roots can be traced back to 1947, when Carlo Scotti founded the workshop and began producing handmade briar pipes. At the time, handmade briars were uncommon in Italy, but that would soon change as Castello discovered customers' desire for high-quality, handcrafted pipes. In a time of quantity over quality in Italy's pipe making history, Castello flipped the script by prioritizing craftsmanship, high-quality materials, and cutting-edge engineering. Today, the brand remains committed to these same principles, as evidenced by this striking Great Line bent Dublin.

Crafted from world-class briar, this offering showcases a wealth of gorgeous grain, especially along the fanned walls of the bowl, which show off hearty tendrils of flame grain. A crown of craggy plateau along the bowl's exceptionally thick rim adds some delightful ruggedness to the piece, as well as a bold pop of textural contrast that immediately draws the eye. Castello's Collection finish dresses the stummel, imbuing it with a rich walnut hue and accentuating every fine detail of the briar's grain. As part of the marque's Great Line series, this offering exhibits the dramatic, bowl-centric proportions that ground it firmly in the neoclassical Italian style, making this pipe a must-have for fans of that iconic aesthetic.
